Aloha TAG Family:

As you may know, the WHO has declared the Coronavirus to be a pandemic. As part of our commitment to our patrons, team members, and the larger community, we will continue to monitor this evolving situation. At this time, TAG remains open and we anticipate continuing our season. However, we will be implementing preventive measures which are in line with recommendations from proper authorities.

We will be advising our team members that should anyone travel to, and return from, an area of the world identified as posing a higher Coronavirus-related risk, or have been in contact with anyone who has traveled to such places, to stay away from the theater for 14 days, and to seek treatment if symptoms should develop such as a fever, coughing, and having difficulty breathing.

We will also be adding visual reminders in the theater for everyone to exercise proper hygiene and self-care. This will include asking that when in the theater, particularly during performances, that everyone abstain from our customary Hawaii handshakes, hugs, and kisses, and replace them with a tap to our heart or with a Namaste bow. This will also be conveyed audibly during the introduction to any of our shows.

In short, while we are encountering a matter of unprecedented challenge, we remain committed to doing our best to help mitigate the spread of this disease. In effect, we will do our share. But in addition, we ask that all of you amazing people who have helped to build our wonderful community theater - whether as talent, as crew, as volunteers, as patrons, or as “all of the above,” as many of you are - do your share.

Please avoid close contact with people who are sick. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Wash your hands minimally with soap and water, and frequently, and for the prescribed period of time (20 seconds is recommended, “Happy Birthday” twice). But above all, if you are sick, please stay home and do not visit the theater. If you have bought tickets for any show, do not worry, we will give you a full refund, or, credit you to another show of any production of your choice. It will be your call.

I thank you, devotees to TAG and residents of Hawaii. Together we’ll get through this.
